Dear Eagle Choice Film
Club member,
Let's try this again.
Response was
underwhelming to
Children of Men,
which had 24 people attending last weekend. Ugh.
Starting Friday, we
bring you
Breach
for a limited engagement, and it is an Eagle
Choice film. Usually, they won't be bunched
up so close together, but the calendar is getting
pretty full, and this is the last weekend for awhile
that we have some room.
Why should you see
Breach? It's
a tense and engaging portrayal of the successful
effort to uncover the FBI's most notable turncoat,
Robert Hanssen.
"This isn't one of
those labyrinthine works of deception that
doubles back on itself at every turn. Breach
is content to tell a strong story with the
utmost efficiency and let its cast do the heavy
lifting. In other words, it's a fine February
release, unconcerned with awards but
a healthy cut above most studio flotsam
currently flooding the multiplex.[emphasis
ours]"
Look back at what he
wrote: "...a healthy cut above most studio flotsam
currently flooding the multiplex."
That is
precisely what describes an Eagle
Choice film. In a small market, with
limited screen availability, the Eagle
Choice film club is one of the few ways we
can bring films of this type here. You are part of a
core group of people who have indicated an interest
in this type of film, and the email alert is our way
of letting you know when we grab a film for what
will be a very limited run.
You are part of a "Good
Movie Militia," and periodically we will sound the
alarm. If the militia does not respond, we will
eventually have to give up and let Terre Haute and
Indianapolis host these solid films. We can
certainly have a pretty decent business catering to
the
Wild Hogs
audience (and yes, we LIKE that movie), but
it won't be as interesting a place and we think the
area will be the poorer for it.
If it appeals to you at
all, we urge you to come on out this weekend or
early next week to see this film.
To arms, movie militia!
To arms!

When young Eric
O'Neill is promoted out of his low-level
surveillance job and into FBI headquarters, his
dream of becoming a full-fledged agent seems
near reality. Better yet, O'Neill will work for
renowned operative Robert Hanssen within
"information assurance," a new division, which
protects all classified FBI intelligence. But
O'Neill soon learns the true reason behind his
promotion: Hanssen is the subject of a
top-secret investigation--a suspected mole, made
all the more dangerous by the global import of
the information he is charged with protecting.
The Bureau asks O'Neill to engage in a lethal
game of spy-versus-spy to gain Hanssen's trust
and draw the traitor out of deep cover.
